The capture of the border town of Badama in Idlib province over the weekend was significant in allowing FSA fighters to flood across the Turkish frontier, as many as 700 say activists, and attack the border post at Khirbet el-Jouz and the checkpoint at Darkoosh, taking the regime troops by surprise.

In their haste to escape Assad’s troops drove vehicles over the edge of steep escarpments and left their wounded behind. They also abandoned vehicles and large stocks of weapons. You can see a video of the captured bases plus supplies and trucks and BMP armoured vehicles,

There were emotional reunions as the former head teacher of Badama school, now fighting for the FSA, and his friends returned to the town for the first time in 16 months.
