The suspects surrendered to the FSA and confessed
One of the suspects, who surrendered to the Free Syrian Army (FSA) on Nov. 7, said they traveled to Gaziantep, Turkey’s southeastern border city, in a white Volkswagen to get to the conflict zone.
Prosecutors ordered the suspect to provide the registration and license plate information for the vehicle and, in the subsequent investigation, police determined that the vehicle was in Gaziantep on July 31.
The mobile signal of the suspect’s cell phone was also investigated, and it was found that the suspects were in Gaziantep on July 31, Aug. 6 and Aug. 14.
The investigation revealed that the suspects were connected to the conflict zones and that they organized the passage of Daesh members across the Karkamış Turkey-Syria border.
