Preparing to file lawsuits against Assad terrorists

Syrian lawyer and human rights activist Anwar al-Bunni, who currently lives in Berlin, has called on Syrian refugees in Germany and other European countries who were previously arrested and detained in Security Branches 235, 227 and 215 in Syria to contact him in order to participate in lawsuits being filed against Assad terrorists now living in asylum countries.

As a human rights lawyer in Damascus, al-Bunni had represented more than 650 political prisoners before also being imprisoned by the regime in 2006 on charges of seeking to overthrow the regime, threatening public order, incitement to sectarian hatred and being in contact with foreign powers.

The charges were the regime’s way of punishing al-Bunni for relationships he had established with foreign journalists who helped publicize his efforts to defend his political prisoner clients.
